Wheel hop

Hi all.
I thought I would throw this out to the lists to see if anyone can make a
suggestion for dealing with a problem I am experiencing:
I have a Spec V, and when I shift hard (mainly in 1st to 2nd) and the tires
break free, instead of simple tire slip, I am getting a fairly bad wheel
hop condition. Sometimes it is bad enough to hinder steering.
I am looking for solutions to make it "hook up" better.
I know, bigger tires, etc would possibly eliminate the tires from breaking
free, but I am more interested in a suspension solution to stop it from
hopping.
I know some of you have lots of experience in suspension tuning, especially
those who are drag racing their cars. I hope that some of you may have seen
similar to this, and you might have solutions to suggest. I am not planning
to drag this car, but there are times one wants to drop the hammer without
this happening!
Any ideas?
With our best regards,
