HKS Super Mega Flow

I picked up a HKS SMF from a former SE-R owner friend of mine I met from my
Subaru days. Anywho... I was on the HKS website last night and noticed the
filter attachment is different on the SMF now than the one I have. Mine has
a metal clip that goes across the honeycomb grating rather then a bolt that
screws in the center a la the newer version.

Will the new style element work with an old style intake?
Does anyone have an SMF old style?
