I would ask you, Larry, to keep the list.

I agree, the search tool sucks. I 've said so several times, but with patience
the information you want can be found. Database experience is a definite plus.

<soapbox sexism="yes">
I also agree that I'm now one of the first to holler "Search!". I know it
annoys people. I also know that is isn't productive to answer the same questions
over and over and over AND OVER AND OVER because someone is too lazy or
impatient to use the search function. Some complain that old-timers don't
answer questions. Why should they when the info is (almost) readily available?
These people have better things to do in their lives than to be FAQs. Comparing
newbies to little old ladies with flat tires is a poor analogy. LOLs are small
and frail who have little experience changing tires. Newbies are strapping
young men who need to be beat over the head to get off their Gen-Y butts and
learn how to change their own flat tires, and yes, that information is in the
owners' manual. If you MUST be lazy, learn to coax that information out of The
Old Ones, don't demand it.

I un$ubscribed a couple of years ago because the signal-to-noise ratio fell
dramatically with the influx of a bunch of new, young members. I kept hearing
things from Darth Roffe that I should know about and the list was the source, so
now I peruse the archives. This allows me to read only those threads I want.
It's so enjoyable that reading the archives is the third thing I do
everymorning, after making coffee and checking e-mail.

As for SE-R.NET, every complaint is valid. I hardly visit anymore. It's still
a great source for a lot of people, but it's comatose.

Hello, Donovan! No hard feelings?
