Plastic? Cable? Geeze. In the NX, the window goes up via an all-metal,
cableless, nearly plasticless, scissor mechanism. :-)

This sounds just like my '87 Sentra and its passenger window.
Same cheesy mechanism. Couldn't figure out how to use duct tape, so I
fixed it with a plastic cable zip tie. Love those things. Wrapped it
around the cable, inside the carrier, above the little ball welded to
the cable, cut off the excess. Worked great for two years, a second
worked for a year. Now more is broken, time for a new regulator or
epoxy or something.
