I would argue that (police presence). I have driven a couple of times,
always on weekends and the police issue is negligible. They don't mess with
you unless you are reckless. We had like 40 Subies up there in March and no
tickets. Bikers are up there all the time and so are the Miata folks. I have
never seen a cop on the Cherahola.

And if the PIGS do hassle it is often the TN side not the NC side. It also
got repaved late last month on one side... nice and smooth new asphalt...
