A few years ago, I read about a class-action suit against Subaru because
of what seems to have been a bad batch of knock sensors. They were so
sensitive that the timing was always retarded.

Some guy in Australia, I think, stuck a chunk of cardboard between the
knock sensor and the block, and found that he got no knock, and WAY more
power (and better fuel economy as well).

And did you know that Nissan and Subaru share many suppliers? Maybe
since Nissan owns Subaru? What are the odds that the same supplier that
provided hypersensitive knock sensors to Subaru might have made another
bad batch for Nissan?

Just throwing a little fuel on the fire...
