Oil Consumption

How hard is it to replace the valve guides? My father suggested that this
might be the culprit as well. I had a mishap about a month ago where I
mis-shifted, and broke all but one of my rocker arms. I've since put it all
back together, and it runs VERY strong. It just makes me nerous that at WOT
it smokes. TIA.
