Clutch Gritch

I should've mentioned this earlier...

Prior to my clutch exploding (springs popped out of friction disc), I was
getting the
infamous clutch gritch for about a month or so. I was hoping that all I needed
to
do was lube the cable, but I realize now that it was something internal. With
the
new clutch (same clutch cable, new throw-out bearing), the gritch is all gone.
I
suspect that metal particles from the flared openings on the friction disc
(where
the springs sit) got into the throw-out bearing, causing the clutch gritch.
YMMV.
