I don't know about that. I do know that quite a several of the first
SE-Rs to hit the streets had main cats that tended to self-destruct in a
matter of weeks. Doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, but it raised a
few eyebrows.
Clearly there's no way in hell that the main cat's parts would get
sucked back into they cylinder, because the close-coupled cat is in the
way. Even destroying the CCC, though, I can't imagine the dynamics of
the exhaust manifold being sooo bad that it would suck bits back into
the cylinder...
