I had the distinct pleasure (NOT!) of those drills while I lived in a rural
Indiana town.  Moved to Texas in '68 and practiced only fire drills after that.
I guess living amongst all these refineries and  chemical plants made air raid
drills kinda moot; there must have been several tens of missiles targeted here.
