Pre Silencer advice

I used none when I first did my custom 2.5" exhaust.  I have a Borla SS
muffler.  It was VERY loud.  I then tried a Dynomax bullet muffler as a
resonator.  It was still loud.  Only reduced the noise by a little.
Probably because it wasn't very long.  I now have a Thrush.
