Tell them to find the title, and reserve the car for you until they do, tell
them that you have cash, and will hand it over to them as soon as they can come
up with the title they have to send for it to the state DMV, it'll take about
4-6 weeks. Grease their palm with a $200 down payment, and see what shakes -
wave cash in their face - it's great motivation to hustle - be patient with them
after you've tried to motivate them, and wait around until they can do it. Go
to the local DMV and get the dup title paperwork for them, if the original owner
still needs to do the above to transfer it to them, bring an envelope and a
stamp to mail the paperwork to him, drop it off with the forms. Be creative,
persistent, and come up with the solution, the car's right there...
