Exhaust pipe material vs velocity

Your logic makes sense to me.  In fact that was my belief.  My solution was
Thermo-Tec header/exhaust wrap.  Works great and keeps the heat in the pipe.
I don't know what would be more cost effective though;  what your proposing
or exhaust wrap.
