Camshaft install question

Ok I seen arguments about this before and would like to know if for a FACT
that when you are doing a cam swap you do NOT have to worry about the chain
changing positions on the crank sprocket on a FWD SR20DE?

I know for a fact that you do NOT have to worry about it on a RWD DET
personally as I have just recently torn one all the way down and built it
back up. The RWD DET has a little notch that sticks out from the oil pump
itself which is part of the front cover and when you bolt on the front
cover, you can literally let the chain dangle with all the slack in the
world with no worries.

I have read recently, (and some theorized that at the convention at Brad
Woodworth's B14 for example had this problem) that ANY amount of slack and
it could jump teeth on the FWD DE.

I believed the latter until... today, when I received my S3 cams and the JWT
instructions say and I quote "It is impossible for the chain to jump on the
crankshaft sprocket because their isn't enough room between the sprocket and
cover." So for those of you who have torn down a RWD DE, WHICH IS IT ONCE
AND FOR ALL??!??!
