Blown turbo or blown head gasket?

When I blew up my S4 turbos last year on the drivers side band the exhaust
wheel completly broke off and went into the cat....it was blowing oil into
the cat and blowing the nastiest blue white smoke U ever seen. I think the
problem your friend is having is the turbo is blowing oil into the exhaust
and cat is burning it- he will need a new cat most likely.
