This is bull shit!  I say get the best sticking tire for your budget
period.

In a panic stop, where you need an extra foot as the difference
between a smashed front end and saving it, there is no
substitute for getting a stickier tire.

Same is true in an evasive manuever where transient response
and maximum g stick is needed, there is no substitute for
stickier tires.
