Spec-V vs SE Data

Doing some research on the transmissions in B15s, I found some
disturbing information. I don't know anything about the accuracy of
either of my sources, but if I can only assume that those posting it
were as well-intentioned as I am. Look at the gear ratios here:

http://www.zotz.com/nissan/sentra_se_specs.htm
http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/archives/features/feature01_1201.shtml

If you compare the numbers side-by-side, the transmissions are geared
almost identically. The only difference appears to be sixth on the
Spec-V, which is clearly an even taller overdrive. I guessed that a
stripped-but-fully-bolted SE-R with a Spec-V ECU would probably be a
better drag racing platform than a Spec-V. Seems that I may be right,
too.

If both of these sources are right, and I'm not saying they are or
aren't, we have been practically lied to. Okay, so the Max transmission
is probably stronger, but it ain't what I'd call "close-ratio." Can any
of you find data that disputes either of these gear ratio listings?

PS - I *still* haven't found a list of gear ratios for the new SE-R. I
set out tonight to (dis)prove that the SE and SE-R transmissions were
the same. Can somebody point me to those?

PPS - The SE-R.net page on the new SE-R still lists HP figures as being
170/180 respectively. ;)
