Hey Joel: thanks.
When I am in the performance (having fun),mode I shift manually, normally
hold 1st till 7300-7500, 2nd till 6800-7000, third till 6800 by then I'm
heading for 120....don't know the top yet in 4th. Never a miss,just pulls
with gusto every time, so I imagine my style of driving could handle an S4 so
long as the low end is strong enough to allow a decent take off. Also think
the slightly smaller diameter tires 195X55X14, 22.4" versus 22.7" stock helps
the get up and go. What da ya think?

I would go into the archives and spend a little time searching and reading
under S3 & S4 cams. It will give you somewhere in there the # for torque and
hp for both cams. There was a comparison dyno done with both on the same
car..........................
