digital in nature.  They either read RICH or LEAN and not much in between.
Horiba sensor and other wide output sensors are designed to have a bigger
spread in voltage across the stoichiometric point, but that is not what is
shipped with the majority of cars.

As far as lean when coasting, typically the injectors are shut off during
coasting.
At idle, the engine may run lean, but you should get it to bounce several
times as described in the FSM.  Yes, the mixture is rich at WOT, and any
time you blip the throttle.
