Erik,

You can drop the passenger side down low enough to replace the seal. I
replaced the seal when I did the UR crank pulley. No big deal at all.

Subject: Changing front seal with engine still in car?
Importance: High

Hey, I am doing some repair and maintenance on my Step-Dad's SE-R (just did
the 5th gear pop out repair and the MAF reground). The front seal is
PISSING oil out and making a royal mess out of the engine bay and the garage

floor. Has anyone dropped the passenger side of the engine low enough to
get the main pulley out and change the seal? What ther items did you have
to take off and/or loosen to do it? I am figuring on using my cable hoist
and gently lower the engine and watch for tightening wires, hoses etc....
If you have some experience in this and can pass on some words of wisdom,
please do. I will let you all know how it went since this seems to be a
problem with a quite a few of the high mileage SR20's I have seen lately...
