Dec. 31, 1992 is when I took ownership of my Nissan NX1600. For the
same price I could have bought an NX2K demo, but it had almost 10K on
it and I went for the new car feeling. I didn't appreciate the
difference then, and while there have been a few times when I wish
that I had picked up the NX2K, overall I've thoroughly enjoyed my
ride. I've also enjoyed this forum for the last three or four years.
I've appreciated the help from many of you as I've worked on my
suspension and improved my car's handling performance. It still makes
me smile when driving on a windy road. I'm now teaching my two
teenagers how to drive a standard with it.
And I now have a second NX in the driveway. A one owner NX2000
hardtop with 148 000 kilometres (90 000 miles) on it. Interior is
very clean (back and passenger seat rarely used), still have the
original tires that they'd stored, regular oil changes and this car
has likely never seen the red line. The rear strut towers are in
great shape, but there's quite a bit of rust on the typical spots. A-
pillars have holes. I'm having fun, but I have to promise myself that
I'm not going to mod two cars! At least, not very much!
