love of the car

For months now I've just been waiting for the digest on the email, wonderful
thing, haven't played here for a good while. The posts reminded me how much
the people on the list love the cars, and how nice the folks are (including
the crochety old listmaster :-)).
I'm a relative newbie with the cars, fell in love with 'em when they came out
but just early last year now that I'm a geezer and won't ever have the $ to
play with the $ cars, decided to play. Found an inland Florida '93 that
looked like it'd been inside most of it's life except for the parking lot
dings and the usual headliner malady; am NOT leaving it stock; underneath
first of course - After MONTHS of research for a tolerable street setup:
Hypercos, AGXs set 2 front 4 rear, Progress bars f&r set soft front medium
rear, Stillen fstb, Active Tuning rstb, 16x7 37mm offset OZ, B'stone RE950
205/40's. After MUCH discussion with Hyperco, cut B= coil from the fronts to
get the car to sit "properly". Wow. Other than the fact that it's still got
60% on the front, turns and stops rather spritely, altho it could use a bit
more rear brake bias. With some various but not yet all body cosmetics done,
next is the VE now in the shop and ready to drop in. I tried to stay under 10
grand for the whole project and didn't quite make it, but holy mother what a
sweet street/occasional autocross toy. I think I'll just be buried in it when
the time comes (Nah, I'll will it to my kid).
