Buy or borrow an OBD-II diagnostic computer (aka "scan tool".)  Or
tweak the switch on the ECU to have it flash out codes (check your
FSM, or see here: http://www.streetupgrades.com/downloads/B14FSM/EC.pdf )

I don't know if the '95 and up OBD-II cars are backwards with the
Consult computer protocol.  If they are, you can get an adapter box
to convert to standard RS232 serial, and use a PC with one of several
free-ware programs to do it.
