Sounds like the valve lash adjusters are clattering before filling with oil. It happens to many of us. The fix is to fill them with oil before assembly as described by the FSM. If you don't fix the problem, I don't recall any major issues you should have. I don't know if I'll ever fix mine... -Ben Fenner 1994 Black SE-R
