I've noticed those, too.  Louvers are bad for high-RPM performance, but I
don't know *how* bad.  On my wife's '95 Saturn (sig), I actually *wanted*
a louvered core to choke the exhaust a little bit.  I don't know how much
a louver chokes a naturally-aspirated SR, though.  How much does a
cat-back make (after CAI and header); 3-5 HP?  How much will a louvered
resonator choke; 1-3 HP?

I don't know.
