That's the input shaft, not the gearset.  Mike Kojima's car has several
other workarounds that fix those weaknesses.  IIRC, a Silvia input shaft
and a Maxima-sized clutch?  The PAR gearset did fine, but the input shaft
(which is not a new issue) failed due to the extreme shock of applying
nitrous.

Don't blame the kettle for a bad meal when the chef is a lousy cook.
