POX on OBX!

I am ashamed to admit that I bought one, about
a week and a half ago. It wasn't certain at that
point that it was a direct knockoff.

Does it make me a bad person to use it?

To spend a week-odd porting it, to be out the
money I spent on it, and actually want to bolt
it on? I don't think so.

Is it possible that there is a reality check
that needs to happen on the cost of a HotShot
header? This issue has certainly not gone
unnoticed, I'm sure. I would say that maybe
they should look at this and see if it's *possible*
they could do anything to make the gap a little
less noticable. Having an american manufacturing
company assembling the headers, and spending
their time cleaning them up maybe?

I don't pretend to know the right answer.

Possibly - lowest cost I've SEEN is $375 from
the now departed from the list JGY.

Chris over at SR20Dev has them for $385.

I've heard of JWT ECU knockoffs. I didn't
feel good about buying one. I still don't.

Reality is, JWT ECU/cams are the last thing
I will ever do to my NA '92. It's just not enough
of a gain for me to want to spend $1000 on anytime
soon. Race Rubber, 15x7's, BABK - these are
the things I want to spend the bucks on. At the
point in time when the ECU/Cams are the last
thing I can do to my NA Car, I'll do them.

I'm sure one day that OBX Header I bought will
get replaced with a real HotShot.

On the thread closing note, I was very happy
to see Matt close that thread. Matt's a hell of
a guy - no question.

On a similiar note, I was attempting to run a
GB for the GA16 Header on Nissanforums,
mostly because a GA16 buddy of mine who
is broke as hell is dying for a header.

To do something out of ignorance is one thing,
to do something after ignorance is lost, is another
entirely. I won't put any support further towards
OBX or 'help them out' by trying to get a GB going
for GA16 headers, because I think it sucks.

It's like buying Duracell batteries and Rolex's in
Chinatown - the knockoffs might look good, and
they cost nothing, but they are crap. In reality,
this header is crap.

As Thomas Fox pointed out, it's not a HotShot.

He also owns the shop I get to play at for free,
and since he knows quite a bit more than I do,
he helps me out with stuff I either don't know,
or just don't want to mess with out of fear.

I had to post a message that the GB is off on
Nissanforums. It's going to break my heart to
tell my buddy I can't get him a header - he goes
out of his way to help me out all the time.

Anyone have an old HotShot GA16 header they
want to let go of *cheap* :)
