Wheel spacers.

The way I read the whole offset thing,
I was thinking about 5mm spacers for
those Rotas. The thing that's got me
all confuzzled however is this:

If the offset on the rims is a +40mm,
and I put a 5mm stainless spacer in
between the inside of the wheel and my
brake rotor, doesn't that push the track
wider, and therefore increase an already
positive offset?

Or have I got it all wrong?

I reread some of George's posts on the subject
that were lurking around in my own personal,
therefore searchable netscape mail client, and
found the page he referred to where you
calculate offset from size/center/backspacing,
and I don't have the backspacing (yet).

I'd just like to be able to run a nice wide
205/50/15 Azeni (more like 215, I hear)
and not have any perch rubbing issues.

I *could* just trim my perches, since I don't
use them anyway - but that seems a little
'Hey George, throw me a banana, wouldja?'.
