Classic brake upgrade question

Does the NX brake upgrade actually decrease stopping distance or does it
just provide better resistance to fade during high brake use, i.e. on the
track? If the former, does anyone have any figures or just anecdotal
evidence? I was thinking of getting some 15" wheels, mainly to allow me to
do the brake upgrade on my Classic, but I never race. I am only interested
in stopping better in emergency stop types sitautions.
