I don't understand; how is having the perch at the top of the thread any
more or less likely to bind a coil than in the middle or bottom, given
that the spring length itself is constant?

Not that it matters; Tein kits seem to be a little underdeveloped.  OTOH,
you can have the nice (not Type Basic) dampers revalved, and order custom
rates (again, pretty sure that excludes Type Basic products).  Oh, and
in-cabin damper adjustments...tasty. :9
