800watt stereo VS Westco Battery

Class D amps suck if you are into sound clarity and tonal balance. Class D
amps are designed for efficiency over sound quality - which is great if you
are out to win spl competitions. The HCCA stuff has a blatantly singular
purpose... spl. Anything you can do to stiffen the power supply to your amp
helps (for spls or sound quality). Mount the amps right beside a big cap
which is mounted right beside a big battery. Get a battery with a low
resistance like an Optima. With a hungry stereo, you don't want a deep
cycle, get a starting battery. As a general rule, starting batteries are
designed to supply large surge currents for starting cars (or big bass if
you prefer) and have a lower resistance than a comparable deep cycle
battery. Keep your wires short, neat and as close together as twins. Use
excellent quality connectors... you can also use smaller size cable if you
keep the runs short. 1 foot of 4 AWG cable has less resistance than 3 feet
of 0 AWG cable.
