metal head gasket question

     The head gaskets fot the front wheel drive SR20DE/DET are interchangable.

    doesnt the head have to be o-ringed or something like that to run the
copper
    headgaskets? import summit has them for 60$ in different sizes. i think
the
    nismo catalog lists the det headgasket as being .047" thick.
