help w rear main seal

Hey There...

Looking for advice on replacing the rear main crank seal on der car.  My
long drawn out clutch replacement is still in process.  I bought a new rear
seal from Courtesy as suggested on their web site.

So far, I haven't been able to crack the retainer plate loose, without
concern of damage.  I pulled all four bolts and the two lower nuts, but
it's still silio-gooped on tight.  Is there some place I can pry on it
without marring up the surfaces?

TIA for any advice - worst case, it will all go back together tonight with
the old one in there.
