NX wheel spacers

I drive a '93 NX2000 with the stock 14X6 alloy wheels. A short time ago, I
bought a set of classic SE-R rims (14X5.5) with autocross tires mounted on
them.

When I bolted the SE-R rims onto the NX and tried to back the car forward or
backward, the car made a grinding noise coming from the front. A friend who
was watching me said that the front wheels were grinding against the front
brake calipers. He also said that wheel spacers should solve the problem of
wheel/brake clearance up front, and that I might need some different lug
nuts up front. Will wheel spacers indeed solve the problem? If so, what kind
of spacer do I need, and were can one get them? Finally, if the spacers
aren't the solution, what are alternatives? I've already searched the FAQ
and the archives and have found nothing on the subject.

Thanks for any help in this matter.
