Rough running/miss after trans work

I recently had the 5th gear synchro in my 91 SER replaced at a local trans
place. Car had no drivability problems prior to the work, and driving the
car home (about 5 miles) everything was fine. When I went to use it that
night though, it suddenly had a rough, loping idle and general rough running
with lose of power. I checked over everything in the area of the trans
which may have been disturbed when they removed it (air filter/MAF sensor
assembly, associated vacuum lines & connectors, throttle body position
switch, etc.) and everything looks ok, though it's conceivable I missed
something. Vacuum at idle is about 15-17 inches (taken at the line to the
brake booster). Seems low, but the car does have 120K on it. Ironically,
this car has been so trouble free, I am not as familiar with what the vacuum
had been, or even of how to basic tune up tasks (checking timing, setting
idle speed) as I had been on other cars. Can't imagine how these would have
changed suddenly anyway (idle speed is fine but I haven't checked timing).
Had some new plugs & a new fuel filter I had been meaning to install so I
did, no difference. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dan
