George, I'm pretty sure that cam lobes are heat treated for hardness after grinding. This is one reason for having a religious break in procedure (to prevent this thin heat treatment depth from being worn through). Cam lobes are really soft after you wear through this heat treated layer. >I suppose it's *possible* the billet was bad from Nissan, but that >possibility seems awfully remote.
