Crackling noise on Spec V??

Anyone else hearing this?

While the vehicle is idling, there's sort of a crackling or loud ticking
sound coming from under the car.  It's not a constant-rate noise, which is
the most puzzling.  And, after I shut off the car, it continues to crackle
and pop a bit (save your Rice Krispies references...).

Anyone else?
